Lucky in love: Kara can't help but smile as Grahame Norton played a video sequence of her unable to speak through her tears on the chat show


She had sworn off dating before she met her Strictly partner Artem Chigvintsev, but before she knew it she was head over heels.

And it seems the new found romance reduced her to tears just speaking about her new boyfriend.

The 27-year-old actress struggled to keep her composure and failed to contain her tears which fell down her face at the mere mention of Artem.

The sequence, which was shot during the final Strictly show, was shown on the Graham Norton Christmas show.

Kara was a guest alongside Dr Who star Matt Smith and funnymen Matt Lucas and David Walliams, who didn’t let the opportunity pass without cracking some jokes.

After the video of Kara blubbering was shown Lucas turned to her and said: ‘Can I just say I didn’t actually watch the show, but just watching that there…I think that’s pathetic.’

Taking it in good spirits Kara smiled her way through the jokes and spoke about how Artem caught her eye.

She said: ‘I said to Artem at the beginning I’m actually not dating for two year. And his face he said: ‘Oh that is a bit dramatic, isn’t it?’’

She said she was taking ‘a moment’ because she claimed to be ‘off men’ after a painful breakup with her ex-boyfriend Joe Swash earlier this year.

Graham joked that two years was not just a moment but verging on becoming a nun.

Speaking about her new man Kara said: ‘He’s just a real gentleman and I haven’t met one of those for a while.’

The dance couple, who confirmed their romance during the Strictly final by sharing a passionate kiss after winning the title, took to the dancefloor for the Christmas special.

The loved-up pair kissed under some mistletoe performing on the dance show, which aired on Christmas day.
