Sad recollections: Kim Kardashian recalls the death of her puppy when she was a little girl
Christmas is a time for cheer, but it can also be a time for remembering your loved ones.
And reality star Kim Kardashian has been doing just that as she reminisces about a former member of the Kardashian clan - her pet puppy.
Kim recalled heartbreaking details of the death of Valentina, a puppy she received as a gift when she was just a little girl.
Dog lover: Kim is a fan of the furry canine variety
The socialite received the dog as a gift, and sadly it died just two weeks later.
She described the puppy as one of the best presents that she had ever received.
'Valentina was its name, but then she died two weeks later,' she told JustJared.
She explained that the puppy's life came to ill-fate when it suffered snail poisoning.
'You know when snails leave a little trail? Valentina got super excited and ate it and died,' she said.
Kim says she was ecstatic when she first saw the little dog, describing her emotions as 'super excited and emotional'.
Before she was famous: Footage of Kim as a child was shown on a recent episode of new reality TV show, new show Kourtney and Kim Take New York
This unlike her sister Kourtney, who the Kim describes as being rather nonchalant about the new pet that Christmas morning.
'Kourtney would come down and wouldn't care, and she didn't really care that it was Christmas, while I was like, 'Oh my God! I got a puppy!' We were so different!'
Kim's reminiscing comes a new episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians: Junk In The Trunk 2, was recently aired.
Footage of the three sisters and brother Rob messing around in home videos when they were younger was shown on the programme.
